Vision and Goals
With a vision to promote Michigan Manufacturing Revitalization by making small manufacturers competitive in support of automotive and other manufacturing industries, the TDFI has identified the following goals,
- Support collaborative activities amongst various tool and die companies
- Facilitate shared learning among companies and seek best practices to support their competitiveness
- Recruit many sub-tier or lower tier supply companies (primarily tool and die, stamping other small manufacturing companies), so they can have a common voice to express their needs for a competitive small manufacturing industry in SE Michigan
- Develop strategies to move forward on any standards for greater efficiency in the tool and die operations as well as undertake total cost studies to assess their competitiveness
- Help bring meaningful change to the automotive industry by interacting with OEM and higher tier suppliers and engage in better communication with multiple stakeholders
